Acropolis rally 2011 day 1 Stage 3-5

After the short remote service the drivers headed for stage 3 Eleftherohori..
Petter Solberg continued his day 1 charge with a third successive stage win - 11m20.6s  3.3s faster than Sebastien Loeb's time.
Ogier was 3rd fastest 0.7 faster than Latvala .
The Fords of Jari-Matti Latvala and Mikko Hirvonen rounded off the top 5 after stage 3. Hirvonen was 8.2 off the fastest stage time putting him in 3rd overall 34.7 off the rally lead.
Henning Solberg was the quickest of the Stobart Fords moving him up to 7th overall pushing Wilson down to 8th. his team mate Ostberg is 4.4s away in 6th place.

Stage 4.

Stage 3 was stopped and the beginning of stage 4 was delayed after an accident for Peter Van Merksteijn Jr whose Co-Driver was reporting of back pain after the accident. The stage was fronzen after Peter's run through in a time of 13m 28.9

Stage 4 got started after a 15 minute delay. The shortest stage of the day also won by Petter Solberg who has set all of the fastest times so far !

Latvala was 2nd fastest only 1.4 slower than Solberg in the stage and 28.6 off the rally lead.
Sebastien Ogier was 2.1 slower than Latvala . He was happier with his stage 4 drive.
Mikko set the 4th fastest time 0.9 quicker than 5th fastest Henning Solberg and 2.1 quicker than 6th fastest Loeb who said it was more difficult to be 1st on the road in this stage than the previous stage.

when Matthew Wilson completed the stage 10th fastest he brought the news that his team mate Ostberg's car was off the road about 7km into the stage "its really blind on the way up to it so we backed off a bit and lost some time. there ok I think there just a bit off the road..."

Kimi Raikkonen completed stage 4 in 8m 56.5s, 1s quicker than Wilson.

Stage 5 !
Stage 5 the second run of Thiva saw Sebastien Ogier put an end to Petter Solbergs stage wins by setting a time 1.4 sec quicker than the Norwegian. Ogier then moved up to 3rd overall.
“I’m happy with this stage. As it was the second loop I knew it better and I was able to push. It’s still clearing a little. I’m going to carry on trying to do my best.”
Jari-Matti Latvala lost a some time in the overall classification to Ogier, finishing the stage in 16m41.5: “It’s quite okay but Ogier was driving really really well. I did this stage very well and couldn’t do any better, so all respect to him.”
Mikko was 4th fastest 10.5 slower than Ogier. He clearly didnt feel he had done a good stage he said "I think I was just a little asleep at the beginning and I was way behind..."
5th fastest Sebastien Loeb 13.4 off the quickest time had a front right puncture.

stage 5 put an end to Oliveira and Van Merksteijn Sr's rally as they stopped on the stage .
